Grade 1 Class
Our Grade 1 programme will allow your child to have a smooth transition from kindergarten to primary level education.
The first grade is the first school year in Primary school after Kindergarten. Children who are usually 6 to 7 years old are enrolled for this grade During their time in the first grade, children are taught the basic fundamentals of Math. Basic geometry along with graphing may also be introduced. Additionally, first graders are taught basic reading skills with the focus on reading and writing simple statements. Of course, with the changes brought about by the competency based curriculum (CBC) , children entering the first grade are now expected to read and understand stories covering a wide range of lengths and difficulty.
The focus is acquisition of competencies. Other subjects include Health & Nutrition, Kiswahili, C.R.E, P. E, Music, and Lifeskills This is our greatest strength by having a head teacher who has had vast experience in the international curriculum to lead our team in this path. We strive to provide a loving caring environment for these first year graduates and mentor them into their next level of school life.
Grade 2 Class
The second grade forms the second layer of the foundation of a child’s primary education. In the second grade, children are usually 7 to 8 years old. Most 7-8 -year-olds display an unending thirst for knowledge and will have an innate curiosity and excitement about things in the world. They are natural explorers, scientists, and analysts, and often ask questions about everything from why the sky is blue to where babies come from.
At Fortune House we provide a learning environment to nurture aquisation of knowledge in different spheres through competency skills development
At this age, they also take great pride in sharing their knowledge about things and often enjoy showing younger children skills that they themselves have mastered.

For many children, third grade marks a growth spurt—physically, emotionally, and mentally. Most 8-year-olds show great gains in their cognitive development and tend to be able to ask questions until they have enough information to draw conclusions about what they’re learning. They’re also slowly budding into more mature children, making it an interesting year for both them and their parents.
